Check measures 6" x 2.75", Colon, Michigan, dated November 19, 1933. Boldly signed "Harry Blackstone." An E. Hill & Sons State Bank check, paying $4.10 to Hotel Haddam. Stamped with a cancellation stamp on the front, with additional stamps on verso. The check has been encapsulated and graded NM 7.
Harry Bouton Blackstone Sr. (1885-1965) was one of the Great stage magicians and illusionists. He was born in Chicago, Illinois and became very popular during World War II as a USO entertainer, billed as The Great Blackstone.
His son Harry Blackstone Jr. later followed in his father's footsteps and also became a famed magician in his own right.
